These Terms of Service ("Terms") are a contract between TunePaw.io ("TunePaw", "we", "us") and you. They govern your access to and use of our Chrome extension and any related websites, apps, or services (collectively, the "Service"). If you do not agree to these Terms, do not use the Service.

2) What the Service does

Chat with YouTube lets you chat with and get summaries/answers/insights from YouTube videos using AI. The Service may include a Chrome extension, a website, APIs, and integrations with third-party services such as Stripe and Supabase.

We are not affiliated with, endorsed by, or sponsored by Google LLC or YouTube. YouTube™ and Google™ are trademarks of their respective owners.

3) Acceptance of these Terms

By installing, accessing, or using the Service, you agree to these Terms. If you use the Service for a business or organization, you represent that you have authority to bind that entity; in that case "you" includes the entity and its users.

4) Accounts, eligibility, and your responsibilities

• You must be at least 18 years old or the age of legal majority in your country to make purchases. If you are under 18, you must have consent from a parent/guardian.
• Keep your credentials secure and update your account information so it remains accurate.
• You are responsible for activities under your account.

5) Chrome permissions & data use (high-level)

The extension requests only the permissions necessary for core features (e.g., access to the active tab, reading page content to analyze video context, storage to save settings). Details about categories of data collected, purposes, retention, and third parties are provided in our Privacy Policy (link available from within the extension and on our site). We do not sell personal data.

6) Third‑party services (Stripe, Supabase, YouTube)

• Stripe processes payments and may receive payment method and billing data you provide.
• Supabase provides authentication, database, and serverless functions.
• YouTube/Google: If the Service uses YouTube APIs, your use of YouTube features is subject to the YouTube Terms of Service and Google Privacy Policy. We may retrieve and display video metadata, transcripts, or other content permitted by YouTube APIs in accordance with your permissions.

You acknowledge that third‑party services are governed by their own terms and policies, and we are not responsible for them.

7) Intellectual Property & user content

• Our IP. The Service and all associated software, features, and content (excluding Your Content) are owned by TunePaw or our licensors.
• Your Content. You retain all rights to content you submit or generate (e.g., prompts, notes, annotations). You grant TunePaw a non‑exclusive, worldwide license to host, process, and display Your Content solely to provide, maintain, and improve the Service. We do not sell Your Content or use it for advertising. You may delete Your Content, except where we retain copies as required by law or to resolve disputes.
• You are responsible for Your Content and for ensuring you have the necessary rights to submit it.

8) Acceptable use

You will not: (a) misuse the Service, attempt to access it in an unauthorized way, or interfere with its operation; (b) reverse engineer, decompile, or copy any part of the Service except as permitted by law; (c) use the Service to infringe others' rights, violate law, or distribute harmful code; (d) circumvent usage limits, paywalls, or access controls; (e) use the Service in a way that violates YouTube, Google, Stripe, or Supabase policies.

9) Subscriptions, billing, and cancellations (Stripe)

• Plans and renewals. Paid plans are billed in advance on a recurring basis (e.g., monthly or annual) until you cancel. Prices and features are shown at checkout.
• Free trials. If we offer a free trial, you will be charged at the end of the trial unless you cancel before the trial ends.
• How to cancel. You can cancel anytime via the Customer Portal (link available from within the extension/app). Cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period; access continues until then.
• Price changes. We may change plan prices or features by giving you reasonable prior notice. Changes take effect on your next renewal.
• Taxes. Prices may exclude taxes (including VAT). Taxes may be added at checkout based on your location.

10) Refunds & consumer rights (UK/EEA)

• Digital content and the 14‑day cooling‑off period. If you are a consumer in the UK/EEA purchasing a subscription online, you may have a legal right to withdraw within 14 days. By starting immediate access to the Service, you consent to delivery and acknowledge that you lose the right to withdraw once delivery begins. This does not affect any non‑waivable statutory rights.
• Our refund practice. Except where required by law, fees are non‑refundable. We may consider refunds in our discretion where service issues are due to our fault.

11) Changes to the Service and these Terms

We may change or discontinue features and update these Terms. For material changes, we will provide reasonable notice (e.g., in‑app notice or email). Your continued use after the effective date constitutes acceptance.

12) Termination

We may suspend or terminate your access if you materially breach these Terms, use the Service unlawfully, or pose risk to others or to the Service. You may stop using the Service at any time. Sections that by nature should survive (e.g., IP, disclaimers, liability limits) will survive termination.

13) Disclaimers

The Service is provided "as is" and "as available". We do not promise uninterrupted or error‑free operation, or that the Service will meet your needs. Some jurisdictions do not allow certain disclaimers; in that case, this section applies to the maximum extent permitted by law.

14) Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, TunePaw will not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or any loss of profits, revenue, data, or use, even if advised of the possibility. Our aggregate liability for all claims relating to the Service in any 12‑month period is limited to the greater of £50 or the amounts you paid to us for the Service in that period. Nothing in these Terms limits liability for fraud, fraudulent misrepresentation, death or personal injury caused by negligence, or other liability that cannot be limited by law.

15) Indemnity (business users)

If you use the Service for business purposes, you will indemnify and hold TunePaw harmless from claims and costs (including reasonable legal fees) arising from your unlawful use of the Service or breach of these Terms.

16) Copyright complaints

If you believe content accessible via the Service infringes your copyright, please email tunepawapps@gmail.com with details of the work claimed to be infringed, the location of the material, and your contact information. We may remove or disable access to content in our discretion and, where applicable, terminate repeat infringers.

17) Governing law & venue

These Terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales. The courts of England and Wales shall have non‑exclusive jurisdiction, except that consumers may bring claims in their country of residence where required by law. You also benefit from any mandatory consumer protections of your local law.

18) Privacy

Our processing of personal data is described in our Privacy Policy (link available from within the extension and on our site). The Privacy Policy forms part of these Terms.

19) Miscellaneous

These Terms are the entire agreement between you and TunePaw regarding the Service and supersede prior understandings. If any provision is unenforceable, the rest remains in effect. We may assign these Terms; you may not assign without our written consent. No waiver is implied by delay or omission.

YouTube API notices (if applicable)

If the Service uses YouTube API Services, you agree to be bound by the YouTube Terms of Service and Google Privacy Policy. You may revoke TunePaw's access to your YouTube data at any time via the Google security settings page.
